Since 1979, when the Foundation was established, donors have helped to create a charitable endowment of over ten million dollars, the income from which supports non-profit organizations, community projects and scholarships, today and into the future. More than one million dollars has been contributed to projects, primarily those that support health, education, the arts, social services and West Vancouver's physical environment.
Strengthening community starts with people like you – people willing to spend a few minutes to tell us what you think is important in your community. In West Vancouver, we’re working on Vital Signs, a community check up or report card that measures quality of life in our community, identifies trends, and shares opportunities for action. It uses indicators to assess how the community is doing in a number of theme areas, such as health, education, environment, and civic engagement. As part of this initiative, the West Vancouver Community Foundation is helping to conduct research to measure the state of community in the region. We need your help to find out what issues are most important to you!
Taking part in the BC Community Survey (click here) or take the survey here: http://ow.ly/mRrf301iEgN. It is easy, it is anonymous, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Please take the survey today, and help us build a better West Vancouver. The survey closes on Tuesday July 5, 2016.
The West Vancouver Community Foundation stands in sympathy with the people of Fort McMurray at this difficult time. We encourage individuals in our community to support the Red Cross in its endeavors to help all those who have had to be evacuated as these donations will be matched by the Federal Government.
