Endowment Funds

100 Women Who Care of the North Shore Endowment Fund    To support the charitable activities of a designated charity as chosen by 100 Women Who Care of the North Shore.
  
Aboriginal Youth Sport Legacy FundTo support Aboriginal youth in British Columbia to participate and excel in sport.
  
Bonnie J. McLaren Memorial Fund
 
Income from this Fund will be disbursed to a Qualified Donees designated by the Soroptimist International of North and West Vancouver and approved by the family, or the survivor of them, or the personal representative of the last survivor of them.  The mandate of the Soroptimist International of North and West Vancouver is to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
  
Bradley T. Bowles Scholarship FundIncome from this fund is to be disbursed at least annually for the purpose of an Athletic Scholarship to a Grade 12 graduating student who attends WVSS with superior athletic performance and high academic standing.
  
Christina Lawson Scholarship Fund in Music/DramaIncome from this fund shall be used to award scholarships to one or more deserving individuals ordinarily resident in WV, who have shown community service as well as high academic standing.  They must enroll in a post secondary institution in Canada or the US, with preference given to a student enrolled in a post-secondary institution in Canada.  Financial need of the recipient is a consideration.
  
Danny Possee Memorial FundIncome to purchase new vehicles as required by the team and for the purchase of safety and rescue equipment; and for the purchase of replacement equipment and upgrades to vehicles and communication systems.
  
Daphne Nicholson Charitable FoundationTo be distributed from time to time, at the discretion of the Settlor, to provide funding for the types of projects and charities that Daphne would have embraced.
  
Donald & Marjorie Lanskail FundIncome from the fund to be used to develop a continuous walkway from Cleveland Dam to the Capilano River and along the WV waterfront to Dundarave Pier.
  
Faris Family Scholarship FundIncome from this fund shall be used to award scholarships to one or more deserving individuals ordinarily resident in WV, who have shown community service as well as high academic standing.  They must enroll at UBC studying Humanitarian and Social Services.
  
Fred/k E. Russell FundIncome from the fund to be used to encourage youth sailing and or to support senior golf at the Gleneagles Golf course and to support the North Shore Lifeboat Society.
  
Friends of the Gallery Endowment FundIncome from the fund is to support the visual arts in WV and if a visual arts facility is constructed in WV, all or portion of this fund is to be used to support the development of such a facility.
  
Gertrude Lawson Scholarship Fund in Education
 
Income from this fund shall be used to award scholarships to one or more deserving individuals ordinarily resident in WV, who have shown community service as well as high academic standing.  They must enroll in college or a university in BC studying Education.  Financial need of the recipient is a consideration.
  
Harvest Project Endowment Fund
 
Income from this fund is to support the activities of the Harvest Project.
  
Hender Family FundIncome from the fund is to provide support for health, education, the arts, social services and the physical environment of WV.
  
Holly and Beke Burne FundTo support improving and beautifying the seawalk between 25th Avenue and the Capilano River and the trail up the west side of the Capilano River to Cleveland Dam within the District of West Vancouver and all parklands adjoining the seawalk and trail within these boundaries.
  
Irene Carpenter FundIncome from the fund is to provide support for health, education, the arts, social services and the physical environment of WV.
  
James A. Inkster Leadership Award FundIncome from this fund is to provide a financial award to one or more graduating students from WVSS who demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm for extra-curricular activities, and vigorous school spirit.
  
Jeremy Dalton Rugby EndowmentIncome from this fund is to provide an annual $500 scholarship to support a youth who is a member of the Capilano Rugby Club who demonstrates a sense of community spirit, academic interest and a love for rugby.
  
Jerry Beckerman Memorial FundTo recognize a student graduating from a public secondary school in SD #45 and proceeding to a post-secondary degree program.  The successful applicant will have demonstrated an interest in school/community service and volunteerism, a strong academic record, dedication, and achievement within the fields of sport or the visual and performing arts.
  
Joshua Goos Memorial FundTo support youth-oriented projects with preference for projects directed towards supporting troubled youth.
  
Kay Meek FundIncome from the fund is to be used to contribute education, culture, medical research, and physical improvement to WV.
  
Marc Rozen Memorial Fund for YouthIncome from the fund is to be used for the general purpose of assisting youth in BC and surrounding area.
  
Mayors’ Endowment FundIncome from the fund is to be used for the general purpose of assisting youth and/or the arts in WV.
  
North Shore Rescue Team Endowment FundAnnual income earned to assist with the Team’s annual operating expenses, safety equipment, rope, rescue equipment, flares, helmets, etc.
  
North Shore Rescue Tim Jones Legacy FundTo support the ongoing operations which will include, but not be limited to, the purchase of: rescue and safety equipment; vehicles and communications systesm; education and training; upgrades and maintenance of equipment and facilities, and such other purposes as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors of the Settlor to enable the Settlor to carry out its mandate.
  
Robertson Taylor Endowment FundIncome disbursed annually in the fields of health and welfare, education and cultural activities in WV.
  
Thunderbird Marine Corp. FundIncome from the fund is to provide support for health, education, the arts, social services and the physical environment of WV.
  
Tom and Judy Baillie FundTo support the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
  
Trajan Martin Memorial Scholarship FundIncome from this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a student from the North Shore who demonstrates compassion, adventure, integrity, and exuberance for life.  Applicants must be between the ages of 16 – 25.  Persons considered must submit an essay of 500 words explaining how they meet the criteria.
  
West Vancouver Artists Fund EndowmentTo provide visual arts scholarships for one or more students attending West Vancouver secondary schools.
  
West Vancouver Nature House FundTo the West Vancouver Nature House Society, which is constitued to establish, maintain and operate for the public benefit a facility for public education, communication and display of the diverse activities of its members and to foster public awareness and dialogue of the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. If for any reason West Vancouver Nature House is unable to accept these funds, then they will be disbursed to the West Vancouver Streamkeeper Society.

West Vancouver School District Endowment FundTo enhance learning opportunities for students attending public schools in the West Vancouver School District.
  
West Vancouver Youth Band FundThe income from the fund shall be disbursed from time to time for the general purposes of the West Vancouver Youth Band.
  
William Patrick Memorial FundTo provide support for health, education, the arts, social services and the physical environment of West Vancouver.
  
WVCF Community Fund
 
To provide support for health, education, the arts, social services and the physical environment of West Vancouver.
  
WVCF Grant Stabilization FundTo support grant income during market fluctuation.
  
WVCF Sustainable Environment Endowment FundTo be used to address environmental issues in our community.
  
YAHU Endowment FundTo support innovative, youth-involved programs with the potential for long term sustainability.

Managed Funds

West Vancouver United Church Endowment Fund  To provide financial support for those projects and programs that are involved in satisfying the social service, special education and health, and humanitarian needs of the community.
  
West Vancouver United Church Permanent Trust Fund  To continually have adequate funds to cover operating costs of the church, and to allow it to continue to improve the programs that serve both the congregation and the wider community.
  
West Vancouver United Church Permanent Trust Fund #2  To provide financial support for those projects and programs that are involved in satisfying the social service, special education and health, and humanitarian needs of the community.

Flow-Through Funds

Black Creek Old Growth Environmental FundThe purpose of the Fund is to promote awareness, understanding and protection of the forests, creeks, foreshore, flora, fauna and natural environment of West Vancouver and all distributions from the Fund must be used to promote these purposes.
  
British Pacific Properties Scholarship FundTo be awarded to a Sentinel Secondary or West Vancouver Secondary Grade 12 student(s) who have demonstrated community service and will be enrolling in Science or Engineering at a University in BC.
  


  
Capilano Rugby Club “ Building on Success” FundFor the use in the Capital Campaign of the Capilano Rugby Football Club Society to develop the facilities at Klahanie Park.
  
First Aid Ski Patrol Flow-Through FundIncome from this fund will be for the cost of ski patrol training, capital replacement of equipment, apparel and communications systems.
  
Gift of Music FundTo enhance Vocal, Choral and Instrumental music programs throughout the West Vancouver School District.
  
Harvest Project Flow-Through FundTo support the activities of the Harvest Project in the communities of North and West Vancouver.
  


  
James A. Inkster Leadership Award Flow-through FundTo provide a financial award to one or more graduating students from WVSS who demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm for extra-curricular activities, and vigorous school spirit.
  
Musica Nautica FundTo support music programming and music education in West Vancouver and approved by the Settlors, or the survivor of them, or the personal representative of the last survivor of them.
  
Music MattersTo bring Classical and Contemporary music, to the main stage of the Grosvenor Theatre, Kay Meek Centre and to subsidize the cost of the tickets for these concerts for students who attend elementary and secondary educational institutions located in West Vancouver.
  
North Shore Field Hockey Facilities Society FundTo promote (including fund-raising), develop and manage sport fields and facilities in West Vancouver for the benefit and improvement of field hockey and other field sports on the North Shore and for related and ancillary purposes.
  
North Shore Rescue Team Flow-Through FundFor the cost of the move and completion of a new operations base in the new City of North Vancouver Works yard and thereafter provide funding for the acquisition of safety and rescue equipment and upgrades to vehicles and communications systems.
  
Ronald and Barbara Howard Memorial FundAll distributions from the Fund will be to fund good works for the benefit of cycling and the arts in West Vancouver.
  


  
West Vancouver Administration Flow-Through FundTo  support administration costs of the West Vancouver Community Foundation. 
  
West Vancouver Marine Rescue SocietyTo support the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station.#1 - West Vancouver to cover operating and equipment costs.
  
West Vancouver Nature House Flow-through FundTo the West Vancouver Nature House Society, which is constituted to establish, maintain and operate for the public benefit a facility for public education, communication and display of the diverse activities of its members and to foster public awareness and dialogue of the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. West Vancouver Police Dept. Flow-Through FundTo support the activities of the West Vancouver Police Department and the community of West Vancouver.
  
West Vancouver Soccer Club Facilities FundFor the development, management, overall benefit and improvement of the sport of soccer and soccer related facilities in  West Vancouver.
  
West Vancouver Soccer Club Mark Steven Memorial Scholarship FundTo recognize both a male and female student graduating from a secondary school and proceeding to a post-secondary degree program. The youth who is a member of the West Vancouver Soccer Club will demonstrate a sense of community spirit, academics interest and a love for soccer.
